A surprise birthday bash for Lolo Nory has been scheduled last weekend right after Pacquiao's bout. It was our grandfather's (our grandma's brother) 70th year and he had no clue what's in store for him. He thought that he was reserving a family dinner at some posh restaurant at Nuvali, but instead he got his own set of tables and catering down their own clubhouse at La Residencia.
Coming from our family's side, we made way to Sta. Rosa, Laguna right after Pacquiao's unscheduled appointment with unconsciousness in the ring. It is just almost a 2-hour drive from our hometown to the event area. With the fight ended abruptly, we arrived in Sta. Rosa too early for the event, and so we segue to Nuvali for a while to see an over-populated koi fishpond, double rainbows, my uncle's awesome artworks at the Royal Carribean and freshly rained grass and pavements which is just a short drive away to La Residencia.
After that, we made way to the venue and waited for the birthday boy. We surprised him and he was just happy to see all of us there. A quite humble event - just close family and friends attended the celebration where we all sang, dance and dine to celebrate 70 years of a wonderful man's legacy.
WARNING: Photo heavy entry because awesomeness is best captured in photos. Most of the photos before the event were taken by VI. Also, this entry will be quite filled with photos of myself since VI has been quite a darling and decided to take on the photographer role.
If you are wondering about the pretty sunset, it's edited.
For some reason, I'm not amused on looking at over-populated fish ponds.
These fishes are clearly being starved to death, in a way.
The bigger and badder fish you are, the more you survive in this environment.
Oohh, a date~! Aww.
Just as these two.
With the awesomest person alive.
Scratch that, TWO of the awesomest people alive.
Huh, look at that. Seems like my uncle is standing behind a colorful abstract painting.
And this two are on a date as well. How come I don't have one?
I will forgive this display of annoying smiles since it is your monthsary.
(lol, honestly, I find it adorable)
BEST CAPTION: And the most annoying chaperon goes to...
Priceless moment right here.
Nice candid capture VI.
I love my profile shot on this one.
My ultimate goal as a cousin:
TORTURE THE LITTLE ONES.
Guys, seriously? Are you gonna out-'taray' Lola?
You ain't got a chance!!!
Okay, we can do a wacky face showdown.
Meh... this won't do.
Nah mom, you need more wacky face training.
And the winner of the wacky face photo is...
Gay. Charmee. Charmee. Gone with the wind.
JUMPSHOT.
Couture pose showdown.
I'm so huge, I could hide 3 people. Ha~!
Our stand-in-one-leg-shark-pose.
This is a piggy-back ride with mommy day!
Me and my son's Pacquiao and Marquez 4 Meme.
Darn it. We didn't caught the 2nd rainbow.
This photo is just so sweet.
Taken inside our rented van.
It drizzled a little that day, you could smell the freshly cut grass.
Arrived at the club house. It's too late in the afternoon to take a dip.
Fancy a dip?
I think I'm this two's best fan.
This is just an unfair fight.
Oppa See-saw style.
Here comes the Birthday Boy!!!
2 of the family's first born. Uncle J and Mum.
If you look closely around my mum's neck, you could see a butterfly just chillin' with her.
Another obligatory sibling shoot of my grandparents.
The only girl. The Birthday Boy. The Tortured One. The Torturer.
Good ol boys of our family.
Always a laugh with them.
The Birthday Boy gives his thank you speech to everyone who attended his surprise birthday bash.
And he has his wonderful wife to thank for this event.
She invited everyone for the party.
The only daughter giving her well wished to her parents.
I think they've gone matchy-matchy. I didn't received a memo.
