Boys in the City

NOTE: I will be starting to do some backlog post of my interesting escapades from the past months. Don't you worry, it won't be a long backlog post that would end up timetabling my history. Just some few event-filled days that are worth telling and worth your while.

Last July, I was invited by my good friend Q (no abbreviation there, we just call her Q) to do some photo shoot collaborations. Actually, I've never done official collaborations. Most of the time I just tag along with friends that ended up being an open shoot and I'm doing my fair share of shooting for it.  I was never approached nor contacted to do some real shoots with fellow photographers or models. But I would love to do more collaborations. And oh! Also like any other shoots, it's free on which I humbly succumb to since it is with this kind of shoots I met really interesting people.

I met Q at Greenbelt while they were doing some ocular for the shoot. With her were 2 guys, one was Jade, a familiar face  who model for me a year ago at Ecopark (Q introduced Jade to me then and has been in a number of collaboration shoots with Q for a time) and another guy, whom Jade proudly introduce to us as his "twin" - was Keita. He's quite famous in Lookbook for his chic looks and has developed quite a number of following.

Side Note: Jade and Keita are almost the same height, about 6'0". While both Q and I are well, not that quite tall. We look waaay smaller than we used to when put side by side with Jade and Keita.

We first shot the both of them near Greenbelt 3, I think, in a little patch of greens by the fountains. Then Q and I proceeded to do their solo shoots, which prompted me to take Jade, and Q was with Keita. Being  in quite a bit of a frenzy, Jade gave me dynamic shots. He would jump, sit, stand and all I have to do is click away to his every pose. He would sometimes suggest shots that he like and I would try to make it work to what he is envisioning, and sometimes I would direct him on how I would like some things to happen. And I must say, I got some really nice photos of Jade.

Then Q and I switched, I got Keita this time. While shooting, I kept asking Keita some questions of his uhm, supposedly undisclosed former lifestyle abroad, because I was really interested in it. He politely answered each one and I kept asking him more questions. It's my first time to shoot Keita, but I think he is very well accustomed in front of the camera. With a slight movement of an angle or body posture, his whole look changes. Later on, I discovered that well, he is quite a celebrity online and his pictures are just charming as he is personally.

We shot them both again, ending our shoot on a high note. It was nice way of seeing friends, especially the ones that I don't get to see very often particularly Q and Jade. Moreover, I met Keita and made friends with him through this collaboration. I do hope to shoot them both again, but I'm afraid Jade will be leaving the country by early September so we will be just sending him our best.

I got all excited to head home that time to post-process the photos. I'm not very detailed about editing, but I know what I want. It's just the color tones that I love editing because it sets the mood for my photos.

It was a fun shoot over-all. A way of meeting old friends and making new ones. I hope next time, it's you dear reader that I get to work with.
